Guy Whittall, the former Zimbabwean cricketer, is celebrating his 53rd birthday, a milestone marked by his extraordinary resilience. Beyond his cricketing achievements, Whittall has become known for his incredible survival stories. He played international cricket for Zimbabwe for about 10 years. Whittall’s life has been marked by two near-death experiences involving wild animals. The first involved a close encounter with a large crocodile that found its way under his bed. The second incident saw him attacked by a leopard during a safari. In the first incident, a massive crocodile weighing around 165 kilograms was found under his bed. He remained unharmed. In the second, his dog intervened during the leopard attack, saving his life. Whittall was airlifted to a hospital for medical attention. In his cricket career, Whittall’s notable performances include a century against Pakistan, which helped Zimbabwe secure their first Test victory in 1995, and a double century against New Zealand.
