Sharjah Warriors have confirmed Dinesh Karthik’s inclusion in their team for the upcoming ILT20 season. The veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman will replace Kusal Mendis. Karthik’s arrival adds a wealth of experience to the squad, as he was previously the batting coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), helping them secure their first IPL title in 2025.

Karthik’s T20 career includes playing 412 matches, scoring 7,437 runs, and maintaining a strike rate of 136.66. He has also represented India in 60 T20Is, scoring 686 runs with a strike rate of 142.61. In recent times, he played for the Pearl Royals in the South African T20 league (SA20), where he scored 97 runs in six innings. In IPL 2025, he had a notable partnership with Tim David, now part of the Sharjah Warriors.

This development follows Karthik’s retirement from all formats of Indian cricket in June 2024, with his continuing participation in T20 leagues.
