New Delhi is gearing up for a nationwide fitness extravaganza as the 58th edition of ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ rolls out on January 25. Leading the charge will be Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, who will pedal alongside citizens in Karaikal, Puducherry. This event underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to promoting fitness, sustainability, and an active lifestyle among Indians.
Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of youth-led nation-building, this special edition aligns with National Voters’ Day. PM Modi recently reminded the nation that many young citizens weren’t even born when he took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, and most were children during his 2014 ascent to Prime Minister. Yet, his faith in their potential remains unshakable.
‘You have the capacity, the talent; I’ve always drawn my energy from your vigor,’ PM Modi stated. ‘Today, you hold the reins of Viksit Bharat’s ambitions.’
The ‘My India My Vote’ campaign celebrates ‘Youth Voters of Developed India,’ with the cycling event serving as a vibrant platform to blend fitness, youth engagement, and democratic values. In Amritsar, Central Armed Police Forces and young voters will join hands on Republic Day eve, linking physical health to national pride and civic duty.
Dr. Mandaviya emphasized, ‘A robust democracy thrives on healthy, aware citizens. By tying Sunday on Cycle to National Voters’ Day and My India My Vote, we’re inspiring young Indians to embrace fitness while recognizing their role in shaping the nation’s future.’
Partnering with My India, Fit India aims to instill fitness as a lifestyle and empower youth as informed, active voters in the world’s largest democracy. Launched by PM Modi on August 29, 2019, the Fit India Movement seeks to transform behaviors, encouraging more physically active lives across the country.
This edition promises massive participation, reinforcing fitness as a cornerstone of India’s journey toward development and democratic strength.
