Following its theatrical debut on June 27, the F1 movie has broken box office records worldwide, generating approximately INR 4,800 crore globally and approaching INR 5,000 crore. Its widespread appeal led to a re-release in early August, sustaining its positive momentum at the box office.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for Top Gun: Maverick, the film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula 1 driver who returns to the sport after decades, years after a crash ended his career in the 1990s. His character endeavors to resurrect a struggling F1 team. The cast also includes Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and Tobias Menzies, with Lewis Hamilton and Jerry Bruckheimer as producers.
For those seeking online viewing options, the wait will be short. The F1 film can be rented on Amazon Prime Video starting August 22. It is anticipated to stream on Apple TV+, most likely in late September or early October, although an official streaming release date has not been publicized.
Despite the OTT release, the F1 movie is still playing in some premium theaters. In Mumbai, it is showing at PVR ICON Goregaon, Phoenix Palladium, Metro INOX, and Infiniti Andheri. In Delhi-NCR, viewers can see it at Cinepolis Saket, PVR Noida, and Director’s Cut, Ambience Mall, in formats like Onyx and Dolby. Limited screenings are also available in Bengaluru at Garuda Mall and Forum Rex Walk.
