In a dominant display at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026, England demolished Scotland by a staggering 252 runs in their Group C clash at Takashinga Sports Club in Harare. The young Lions posted a mammoth 404 for 6, powered by Ben Mays’ explosive 191 off 117 balls, featuring 8 sixes and 18 fours. Joseph Moore chipped in with a solid 81, setting an imposing target that Scotland could only dream of chasing.

Scotland’s batting imploded spectacularly, folding for just 152 in 44.5 overs. Finley Carter top-scored with 34, while Max Chaplin managed 22, but the rest crumbled under pressure. England’s bowlers sealed the rout, propelling them firmly in the tournament hunt.

Meanwhile, in Group D at Windhoek’s High Performance Oval, Afghanistan scripted a clinical 9-wicket demolition of Tanzania. The Africans were skittled for a paltry 85 in 36 overs, with Agustino Meya Mwambele’s 14 the highest score. Eight batsmen failed to reach double figures, and only two boundaries adorned their innings.

Nooristani Umarzai starred with 5-9, supported by Uzairullah Niyazi’s 2 wickets. Chasing a duck, Faisal Shinwarzada’s unbeaten 55 off 34 balls, laced with 9 fours and a six, guided Afghanistan home in just 12.4 overs. This victory confirms Afghanistan and South Africa as Group D qualifiers, eliminating West Indies and Tanzania from Super Six contention.

These results underscore the growing chasm in associate nations’ cricket, with full members asserting dominance early in the tournament.
