Dhanashree Verma shared her experience of divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal on the Human of Bombay podcast. She spoke of her emotional state during the proceedings, stating that she cried uncontrollably in court, even though she believed she was mentally ready for the verdict. Verma also mentioned Chahal’s choice of attire, the “Be your own sugar daddy” T-shirt, on the day the divorce was finalized. Recounting the day of the divorce, Verma said she was overwhelmed by her emotions and cried in front of the people there. She admitted that she was “howling” and that Chahal left first. She also addressed the issue of public blame. She explained her approach to marriage, highlighting the effort and commitment she invested in the relationship. She believes that how one behaves on such a significant day is indicative of who they are. Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma married in Gurugram in 2020. In 2023, their relationship began to deteriorate. Their social media communication decreased and they started making cryptic posts. In February 2025, they filed a joint petition for divorce and eventually separated.
