Ten lives were tragically lost and many were injured in a forceful car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening. Prominent figures from the Indian sports fraternity, including cricketer Gautam Gambhir and wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat, have conveyed their deep sorrow and condolences to those affected by the devastating incident. The blast, which occurred at a busy junction, created a scene of chaos with ignited vehicles and shattered glass, prompting panic in the surrounding Old Delhi neighborhoods. Eyewitness accounts paint a grim picture of the event, marked by a loud blast and thick plumes of smoke. This incident comes on the same day that security forces successfully neutralized a transnational terror plot in Faridabad, confiscating a large cache of explosives and weapons. Gautam Gambhir expressed his profound sadness, sending prayers for the bereaved and well wishes for the injured. Bajrang Punia not only mourned the innocent victims but also called for a swift and impartial inquiry into the blast. Vinesh Phogat also extended her sympathies to the families grappling with this immense loss.
