New Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta rolled out the red carpet for India’s triumphant Blind Women’s T20 World Cup team on Thursday at the Chief Minister Jan Seva Sadan. In a heartfelt ceremony, she felicitated the players, their coach, and representatives from the Blind Association, showering praise on their historic victory and unyielding spirit.

Taking to social media platform X, Gupta shared a video of the event, gushing over the athletes’ resilience. ‘Our country’s daughters are incredibly strong,’ she wrote. ‘I have full faith that wherever you go, you’ll leave people amazed. You’ve illuminated the nation’s name with your achievements. We’re so proud of you. Most people can’t even dream of reaching where you’ve arrived. Keep soaring and keep making India proud.’

In her caption, Gupta elevated the team beyond sports icons, calling them ‘a living inspiration of courage, confidence, and indomitable resolve for all of us.’ She added, ‘This team teaches us that true victory isn’t just on the scoreboard but in holding onto self-belief. They are true champions not only of the T20 World Cup but of life’s pitch as well.’

This honor follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier reception of the champions. During their meeting, the players shared inspiring stories from their campaign, which Modi described on X as ‘truly motivational.’

Led by Captain Deepika TC from Karnataka and Vice-Captain Ganga S. Kadam from Maharashtra, the Indian squad dominated the tournament, remaining unbeaten throughout. In the final on November 23, 2025, they chased down Nepal’s 114/5 in just 12.1 overs, securing victory with seven wickets intact. This feat underscores their exceptional skill and determination, setting a benchmark for visually impaired cricket worldwide.
