Rinku Singh, the Indian batter, has spoken candidly about a terrifying incident from his childhood where he was the victim of a brutal monkey attack. The harrowing story was shared during a recent interview on the Raj Shamani podcast. Singh described how monkeys were a persistent threat for him and his brothers during their formative years.

The attack was a life-altering event for Rinku, who had to endure both physical suffering and emotional distress. The incident happened during the rainy season when they were walking towards the fields because they didn’t have a proper washroom at home.

As they walked, carrying an umbrella, the monkey unexpectedly attacked. It pinned Singh down and repeatedly bit him, causing extensive injuries. Despite his brother’s attempts to drive the monkey away, the attack continued.

The injuries were graphically described by Singh, with visible bones and excessive blood flow. He was rushed to a clinic where medical attention was administered. The dressing of the wounds was a tense moment, with uncertainty about his survival. Singh ultimately recovered after receiving care.
