Following a racist incident, a fan has been handed a one-year prison sentence by a Barcelona court and ordered to pay a fine of over one lakh rupees for racially abusing Iñaki Williams, the Athletic Bilbao striker. The incident took place in January 2020 at the RCD Espanyol stadium. The fan made racist remarks against Williams, who is of Ghanaian descent. However, the individual will not be imprisoned, as the sentence is under two years, and the fan has no previous criminal record.
