India’s women’s cricket team continued their successful run in the 2025 Women’s World Cup, defeating Pakistan. The victory was their second consecutive win of the tournament. Pakistan, in contrast, faced their second defeat, unable to mount a serious challenge.

India’s opening bowlers, Renuka Singh and Kranti Gaud, made a significant impact from the start. Renuka’s exceptional performance, with eight straight overs, troubled the Pakistani batters.

Despite the early wickets, Sidra Amin played a composed innings for Pakistan. She found the boundary and anchored the innings, even forming a partnership with Natalia Pervaiz. But, the momentum shifted when Pervaiz was dismissed. The Indian bowlers capitalized, and Sidra Amin’s dismissal sealed the victory.

Although India will be pleased with the win, there were a few areas they need to address. The team missed a few review opportunities. On the other hand, Kranti Gaud continued her outstanding tournament, and Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma added crucial wickets. The fielding was sharp.

India’s win emphasized their status as a tournament favorite. Pakistan needs to improve its batting performance to have a chance to reach the semi-finals.
