    Champions Trophy 2025: Australia’s star all -rounder Marcus Stoinis has announced a sudden retirement from ODI cricket before the Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is going to start in Pakistan and Dubai from 19 February. Stoinis was included in Australia’s 15 -member team last month, but before the tournament, she has surprised everyone by taking this decision.

    Stoinis was recently hurt a light hamstring during the bowling while playing for Durban Super Giants in South Africa’s SA20 League. Due to this injury, he will not be able to participate in the Champions Trophy. Now the new player will be included in the Australia team in their place. Stoinis was part of the Kangaroo team that became champion in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Now he will be seen only in T20.

    After retiring, Stoinis said, ‘Playing ODI cricket for Australia was a great journey and I am grateful for every moment. It is a matter of pride for me to represent my country at the highest level. This decision was not easy, but now is the time to focus on the next chapter of my career away from ODIs.
