Champions Trophy 2025: ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is going to start from 19th February. This tournament will be played under the ‘Hybrid Model’ in three cities of Pakistan (Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore) and also in Dubai. There is still less than a month left for the tournament to start, but in the meantime a big controversy has arisen. Actually, there is news that Pakistan’s name will not be printed on India’s jersey, regarding which PCB has expressed its objection and has expressed hope of proper action from ICC in this matter.
Let us tell you that earlier BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) had refused the Indian team to go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy. BCCI had placed a condition that India would participate in the Champions Trophy only if its matches were held outside Pakistan. After this demand of BCCI, PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) was adamant on not holding the tournament on the hybrid model, but later agreed to move all the matches of the Indian team out of Pakistan. However, under the new agreement, PCB will not be able to send its team to India for ICC events in future. Now Pakistan Cricket Board has made a new allegation against the Indian team.
A PCB official spoke to a news agency on this matter, the official told the agency on the condition of anonymity – “The PCB official said that BCCI is doing politics in cricket, which is not good for the game at all. He refused to go to Pakistan. They do not want to send their captain to Pakistan for the opening ceremony, now there are reports that they do not want the name of the host country (Pakistan) to be printed on their jersey. We believe that ICC will not allow this to happen and will support Pakistan.”
Now the question is what will happen next? Will Team India really be seen in a different jersey, which will not have Pakistan’s name on it? Hopefully the answer will be found in the next few days.
