After the India vs. England series ended in a tie, former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin offered his insights, specifically highlighting India’s ability to compete even without Jasprit Bumrah. Haddin’s remarks focused on the fifth and final Test, where Mohammed Siraj’s performance was instrumental.

In the final Test, with England close to victory, Siraj turned the game in India’s favor. He secured a crucial breakthrough and took his second five-wicket haul of the series, proving his ability to lead the pace attack in Bumrah’s absence.

Bumrah’s limited participation in the series, as he managed his workload, prompted Haddin’s observation about India’s depth in bowling.

“India, they can take a lot out (this) that they can still play without Bumrah,” Haddin stated on LiSTNR Sport. “His life goes on if the other bowlers find a way. They have got so much talent over there in India. But he didn’t win a Test match.”

Haddin further commented on Siraj’s leadership, noting his eagerness to be the leader of the bowling unit, especially in crucial moments. He emphasized Siraj’s ability to take on the pressure despite occasional mistakes. He asserted that players like Siraj, who are willing to take risks and impact the game, are essential. Haddin cited Siraj’s desire to bowl the final overs and downplayed a missed catch, suggesting that the overall impact of Siraj’s bowling should be the focus.
