In a tragic turn of events, Bengal cricketer Priyajit Ghosh, 22, has died after suffering a sudden heart attack while at the gym in Bolpur, Birbhum district. The incident occurred on Friday morning. Ghosh had aspirations of playing Ranji Trophy for Bengal and eventually representing India. He was a dedicated cricketer from a young age, quickly establishing himself as a talented player. He showcased his skills in the 2019-19 inter-district Under-16 cricket tournament organized by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), where he was the top run-getter and was awarded for his performance. Inspired by Virat Kohli, Ghosh prioritized fitness and regularly went to the gym. He collapsed while working out at a fitness center in Bolpur’s Mission Compound area on Friday, and despite efforts to revive him, he succumbed to a cardiac arrest. The cricketing world is in mourning, recognizing the loss of a promising talent whose cricketing journey was cut short. The increasing instances of heart attacks among young people is a matter of grave concern, and warrants immediate attention.
