The BCCI is going to inaugurate a new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru next month, which will provide players with an excellent training experience with new facilities. The benefits of this new facility will no longer be limited to cricketers only, but will also be available to Olympic players. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that Neeraj Chopra and other Olympic players will also get its benefit.
Let us tell you that the new NCA to be started in Bengaluru will include three international size grounds, 100 pitches (45 of which are indoor), and an Olympic size swimming pool. Apart from this, a modern rehab center will also be set up, which will improve the rehabilitation process of injured athletes. Till now Indian athletes have been giving preference to foreign coaches and training centers, but with the opening of the new NCA, they will be able to get world-class facilities at the domestic level, which will make their preparation even better.

Jai Shah also spoke about the need for a new National Cricket Academy and said that it is unfortunate for the world’s number one cricket team to run the previous facilities from the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Jai Shah said that after taking over as secretary in October 2019, it took a lot of time to organize the IPL due to the pandemic. The office was closed for two years. When we got the second term in 2022, we decided that we have to take this project forward. Its foundation was laid in my first term.
He further said that we wanted to make the best use of whatever was available. In 2008, we got that land and I don’t know why the people who came to this position before me did not use it. I am fortunate that it was in my destiny to take the academy forward. It was unfortunate that we had to run the National Cricket Academy (NCA) from Chinnaswamy Stadium. We are number 1 in finance, number 1 in marketing and we are also number 1 in cricket. If you look at the rankings, we are number 1 in two formats and number 2 in one format. Earlier we were number 1 in all three formats.
