The Indian Parliament’s recent approval of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, has prompted the BCCI to review its sponsorship arrangement with Dream11. The BCCI Secretary, Devajit Saikia, confirmed the board’s intention to comply with the new laws. He acknowledged the need to analyze the bill’s effect on partnerships like the one with Dream11. The BCCI has a history of aligning with government regulations, demonstrated by its past avoidance of advertising alcohol and tobacco due to related bans. Saikia affirmed that the BCCI will not pursue any ventures if they are against the law. Dream11, the existing jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket teams, has a sponsorship agreement worth INR 358 crore. The agreement, which includes branding rights across all formats, is active from July 2023 through March 2026 and began during the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies.
