Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have both been excluded from the Pakistan cricket team for the Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan’s white-ball cricket head coach, Mike Hesson, stated that while Babar is a very good player, he needs to improve his strike rate. Hesson expressed hope that Babar will refine his game before the T20 World Cup 2025. Babar Azam’s T20 statistics include 4223 runs in 128 T20 matches, with an average of 39.83. He has scored three centuries and 36 half-centuries, with his best score being 122 runs. All teams have until August 30th to make changes to their squads for the Asia Cup 2025, after which it will become difficult to alter the teams. Pakistan faces a crucial decision regarding Babar Azam’s inclusion.
