Saim Ayub’s exceptional all-round display was the highlight as Pakistan triumphed over the West Indies by 14 runs in the opening T20I at Lauderhill. Ayub, the Player of the Match, showcased his skills with both bat and ball. His innings of 57 runs off 38 balls, featuring five boundaries and two sixes, provided a solid foundation for Pakistan, helping them reach 178/6. Fakhar Zaman contributed significantly with 28 runs, with cameos from Hasan Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf adding to the total. West Indies’ Shamar Joseph took three wickets. In the West Indies’ innings, Johnson Charles and Jewel Andrew made a promising start. Mohammad Nawaz’s impactful spell in the 12th over, however, changed the course of the match. Ayub also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets. Despite Jason Holder’s aggressive late hitting, Pakistan held on. Nawaz finished with 3 for 23, and Ayub with a commendable 2 for 20, ensuring a crucial victory for Pakistan.
