Australia has officially booked its ticket to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semi-finals following an overwhelming 10-wicket victory against Bangladesh. The match, held in Visakhapatnam, saw the formidable Australian opening pair of Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield effortlessly chase down the modest target of 199.

Alyssa Healy was in phenomenal form, scoring a blistering unbeaten 113, which included an impressive 20 fours. Complementing Healy’s brilliance, Phoebe Litchfield remained undefeated on 84, steering Australia to a swift and decisive win in just 24.2 overs. This dominant performance solidifies Australia’s leading position in the World Cup standings.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh struggled to build significant partnerships, ending their innings at 198/9. Sobhana Mostary was the anchor of their batting effort, scoring a fighting unbeaten 66. Her contribution was vital in helping Bangladesh reach a respectable total, but it proved insufficient against Australia’s powerful batting lineup.

Australia’s bowling unit was sharp, with Alana King and Georgia Wareham picking up two wickets each for economical returns. Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland also contributed with crucial dismissals. Megan Schutt opened the account for Australia, setting a strong precedent for the rest of the bowling attack.

This win keeps Australia’s unbeaten run intact as they prepare to face England next. Bangladesh will look to regroup and bounce back against host nation Sri Lanka.
