Pakistan’s head coach, Mike Hesson, has called for his team to maintain concentration and composure as they prepare to face India on September 14th. This match marks the first official encounter between the two nations following the events of the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. In a press conference, Hesson stressed the importance of remaining calm amidst the heightened emotions and tensions associated with this game. Before the crucial match against India, Pakistan will play Oman on Friday, September 12th. Although the opening match is significant, the anticipation for the India game is already building, with expectations of a packed Dubai International Stadium and a massive global viewership. “We know that India are obviously hugely confident and rightfully so in terms of how well they’ve played,” Hesson stated. He further added, “Look, I’ve certainly watched many games from afar, so certainly being on the other side of the fence, I guess, being right and amongst such a highly charged event is going to be exciting.” Hesson also noted, “We’re very much focused on improving as a team, sort of day by day, and not getting too far ahead of ourselves.” Group A of the tournament includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.
