In a thrilling encounter in the Kerala Cricket League, the Kochi Blue Tigers clinched a dramatic victory, thanks to Muhammad Ashik’s outstanding performance. This victory came despite a brilliant century from Sanju Samson.

The match against Kollam Sailors saw Kollam setting a formidable score of 236 runs. Vishnu Vinod’s powerful innings of 94 runs and Sachin Baby’s contribution of 91 runs put Kochi under pressure. Sanju Samson’s aggressive batting style was on full display as he reached a century. However, the game took a turn when Kochi faced a collapse in wickets, making the chase challenging.

Muhammad Ashik stepped up to the plate, forming a crucial partnership with Samson. In the final over, with 17 runs needed, Ashik started with a four and a six. Although a teammate was run out, Ashik took the strike for the final delivery, with six runs required. Displaying remarkable composure, Ashik hit a six, securing an improbable victory for Kochi.

Ashik remained unbeaten with 45 runs from just 18 balls, including five sixes and three fours. This stellar performance made him the highlight of the match, overshadowing Samson’s century and securing a memorable win for his team.
