Arco, Italy – Fifteen‑year‑old speed climbing prodigy Amira Khosla clocked 7.60 seconds in the final of the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championship 2026. The time secured her a sixth‑place finish and established a new Indian National Youth record in the discipline. Earlier in the qualification round, she had already lowered her personal best to 7.74 seconds, making the final performance her second personal‑best improvement in the same event.
Khosla said representing India at a world tournament was among the proudest moments of her life, and breaking the national youth record felt like a dream come true. She added that improving her time twice on such a stage boosted her confidence to compete with the world’s best.
Her achievement marks the strongest showing by any Indian in a World Youth Climbing Championship, highlighting the growing stature of the sport in the country.
