The accompanying caption read, “Ink to paper… the calm before the storm,” offering a glimpse into Lee’s focused, emotional state before the event. This footage quickly spread online, offering fans an intimate look at the official return of one of WWE’s most iconic Superstars. AJ Lee, a three-time Divas Champion, last competed in WWE in March 2015. Her return in Chicago was met with tremendous fanfare, with tensions rising between Becky Lynch and CM Punk. With the sound of “Light It Up,” the crowd erupted as AJ Lee stepped in, altering the course of the rivalry leading up to Wrestlepalooza. Triple H released backstage photos of himself, AJ Lee and CM Punk. At Wrestlepalooza on September 20, AJ Lee and CM Punk will team up to battle Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a mixed tag team match, marking her return to in-ring competition.
