In the first T20I in Sharjah, the Afghan team suffered from a critical blunder. Gurbaz, batting, pushed for a run and initiated a run-out of a fellow batsman, Darwish Rasooli. Then, the very next ball, he nearly made the same mistake.
During the fifth over, Gurbaz attempted a quick run after a shot. Rasooli, at the non-striker’s end, was initially hesitant, but Gurbaz had already committed to the run. Rasooli tried to make it to the other end but was run out. The next ball saw Gurbaz almost repeating the mistake.
