Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui posthumously will get Mumbai Press Membership’s RedInk Award


MUMBAI: Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, who died throughout an task in Afghanistan, has been posthumously awarded because the ‘Journalist of the 12 months’ for 2020 by means of the Mumbai Press Membership.

Leader Justice of India N V Ramana on Wednesday introduced the yearly ‘RedInk Awards for Excellence in Journalism’, instituted by means of the Mumbai Press Membership, in a digital tournament.

He introduced the distinguished award to Siddiqui “for his spectrum of investigative and impactful information pictures”.

Danish Siddiqui’s spouse Frederike Siddiqui gained the award.

“He was once a person with a mystical eye and was once rightly thought to be one of the most predominant photojournalists of this period.

If an image can inform 1000 phrases, his pictures have been novels,” Leader Justice Ramana stated whilst paying tributes to the scribe.

Senior journalist Prem Shankar Jha, 83, was once bestowed with the lifetime success award “for his lengthy and prominent profession of incisive and analytical writing”.

“His recognition for exhausting paintings, the easiest moral requirements, and highbrow rigour are exceptional within the box,” CJ Ramana stated whilst congratulating Jha.

The Mumbai Press Membership instituted The RedInk Awards a decade in the past to recognise excellent investigative and have writing and lift the bar of journalism within the nation.

With the exception of Siddiqui and Jha, variour different reporters have been awarded in 12 classes as a part of the tenth version of the award tournament.
