SAN JOSE, Calif — After 14 hours of deliberations, jurors in Elizabeth Holmes’ prison trial requested Pass judgement on Edward Davila on Tuesday if they might take directions house for overview.
Davila, who has presided over the three-month case, denied their request.
“Jurors won’t take the directions house to check,” Davila informed the court. “The courtroom perspectives that as enticing in deliberations. All deliberations will have to happen simplest within the jury deliberation room.”
Holmes’ protection lawyers and the prosecutors at the case agreed. The jury was once no longer provide all the way through Davila’s reaction, as they remained within the jury room.
Jurors have been passed the case past due Friday afternoon, after listening to from 32 witnesses, most commonly from the prosecution. Holmes, 37, is charged with 9 counts of cord fraud and two counts of conspiracy to dedicate cord fraud. She was once the main witness referred to as via the protection.
Holmes, who pleaded no longer responsible, faces as much as two decades in jail if convicted. The request via the jurors past due on Tuesday is a sign that it might not be an open-and-shut case within the eyes of the 12 people who find themselves deciding Holmes’ destiny.
The jury is off the next day to come and is scheduled to renew deliberations Thursday at 8:30 a.m. PT.
Holmes arrived on the San Jose court on Tuesday together with her lawyers, Lance Wade and Kevin Downey.
