A tragic accident on National Highway-9 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy on Friday. The high-speed collision between a car and a motorcycle left one dead at the scene and another critically injured.
Etisham, a resident of Nilikhedi village, was riding his bike back home from Joya with his friend Masoom Hasan when disaster struck near the Joya area. A fast-moving car rammed into their bike from behind with tremendous force. The impact hurled both riders onto the road, while the car lost control, smashed into the divider, and overturned.
The 17-year-old Etisham succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Masoom Hasan suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals, where doctors described his condition as critical.
The crash caused massive traffic disruption on the busy highway, with long jams forming on both sides due to the wrecked vehicles. Police arrived promptly, cleared the scene after sending Etisham’s body for post-mortem, and restored normal traffic flow after considerable effort.
Preliminary investigations point to speeding and negligence as the primary causes. Authorities are hunting for the car driver, with CCTV footage aiding the probe. A case has been registered against the driver, and legal action is underway.
Police urge all motorists to drive cautiously, emphasizing that reckless speeding has robbed a family of their young son. Treatment for the injured continues, and his condition is now stable.
