New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Startup India mission as a transformative force over the past decade, turning the aspirations of millions into reality. Launched in 2016, the initiative has sparked an entrepreneurial boom across the nation, fostering innovation and job creation like never before.

Speaking at a high-profile event, PM Modi recounted how the program has empowered young Indians from all walks of life. ‘From sleepy towns to bustling metros, startups have become the new heartbeat of India’s economy,’ he said, emphasizing the scheme’s role in democratizing opportunities.

Key milestones include the recognition of over 1.17 lakh startups, with more than 50 achieving unicorn status. The government provided tax exemptions, easier funding access, and simplified regulations, creating a fertile ground for growth. Women-led ventures and those in tier-2 and tier-3 cities have particularly thrived, showcasing inclusive progress.

The Prime Minister highlighted success stories of entrepreneurs who scaled global operations from humble beginnings. ‘This is not just about businesses; it’s about fulfilling dreams and building a self-reliant India,’ Modi asserted.

Looking ahead, PM Modi announced fresh incentives, including enhanced funding for deep-tech startups and international expansion support. As India eyes a $5 trillion economy, the startup ecosystem stands as a pillar of this ambitious vision.

Critics may point to challenges like funding winters, but the momentum remains unstoppable. With India’s youthful demographic and digital push, the startup revolution promises even greater heights in the coming years.
