In a major boost to India’s infrastructure development, Union Minister Piyush Goyal revealed that the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan is actively overseeing more than 3,000 critical projects. This ambitious initiative, launched to revolutionize multimodal connectivity, is ensuring seamless integration across sectors like roads, railways, airports, and ports.
Speaking at a high-level review meeting, Goyal emphasized how PM Gati Shakti’s digital platform has transformed project planning and execution. By providing real-time data and multi-layered visibility, it eliminates silos between ministries, cutting down delays and cost overruns. ‘This is not just monitoring; it’s a game-changer for faster, more efficient development,’ Goyal stated.
Key projects under surveillance include expansive highway networks, high-speed rail corridors, and inland waterways. The minister highlighted success stories where duplication of efforts was avoided, saving billions in taxpayer money. With over 1,400 layers of data integrated, stakeholders can now plan with unprecedented accuracy.
Goyal also pointed to the scheme’s role in attracting investments. International partners are keen on the transparent framework, positioning India as a global logistics hub. As the nation races towards a $5 trillion economy, PM Gati Shakti stands as a cornerstone, promising accelerated growth and job creation.
Looking ahead, the government plans to expand monitoring to even more projects, incorporating emerging tech like AI and GIS. This vigilant oversight is set to propel India’s infra revolution into high gear, benefiting millions across the country.
