    Pakistan is heading to the polls today amid a backdrop of persistent polarization and violence, presenting significant challenges for the nation. To ensure a close eye on security arrangements nationwide, the Interior Ministry of Pakistan has established a ‘control room’ for monitoring security during the voting process.

    Majority Mark

    Any party in Pakistan will need 169 seats in the 336-member National Assembly. While voters directly elect 266 members, there are 70 reserved seats – 60 for women and 10 for non-Muslims – allotted according to the number of seats won by each party.

    Voting will take place between 8am to 5pm. On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan has allowed publishing of the exit poll results after the voting concludes. Therefore, the exit poll results will be out after 5pm this evening.

Undeterred, she persisted, achieving a commendable AIR-642 in her second endeavor, albeit falling short of the IAS cutoff, which led her to a position in the Indian Revenue Service.

    Yet, Nandini’s heart remained steadfast on her aspiration to don the coveted IAS uniform. Determined to surmount obstacles, she made the pivotal decision to relocate to Delhi, where she immersed herself in rigorous preparation at a coaching center. However, fate dealt her a harsh blow when she was struck down by dengue fever prior to her third attempt at the mains examination.

    Despite the setback, Nandini’s resolve remained unyielding. Although forced to forgo her chance at the exam due to illness, she refused to be deterred. Her perseverance bore fruit in her fourth and final attempt, as she emerged triumphant, clinching the pinnacle of success with an unparalleled achievement—an All India Rank-1 in the UPSC 2016 examination.

    According to the company, the new Mozilla Monitor Plus subscription model allows users to eliminate their phone numbers, email, home addresses, and other exposed information typically sold for profit on data broker platforms. It’s worth noting that Mozilla already provides a free privacy monitoring service called Mozilla Monitor, previously known as Firefox Monitor.     Mozilla Monitor Plus will allow over 10 million existing Mozilla Monitor users to conduct scans to detect potential leaks of their personal information and then offer users a tool to help make that information private again. The primary objective of Mozilla Monitor is to simplify this process by actively searching across 190 data broker websites known for trading individuals’ personal and private information.

    To initiate a scan, users have to provide Mozilla with their first and last names, current city and state, date of birth, and email address. This information undergoes encryption and adheres to Mozilla’s privacy policy. Utilizing this data, Mozilla conducts a scan that identifies instances where personal information is exposed, including through data breaches and broker’s websites.

  • RBI Monetary Policy February 2024: Will RBI Keep Interest Rate Paused? Know What Experts Say | Economy News

    New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is all set to announce the outcome of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decision on Thursday amidst market speculations that the central bank might go for another interest pause this time too. 

    The three-day MPC meeting Chaired by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, commenced on February 6 and is set to conclude today. A year is divided into six bimonthly reviews of the central bank’s monetary policy. Additionally, there are out-of-cycle reviews, where the central bank holds extra sessions in urgent situations.

    For a year, the Reserve Bank has kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 percent. The benchmark interest rate was last raised in February 2023 to 6.5 percent from 6.25 percent.

    Suman Chowdhury, Chief Economist and Head – Research, Acuité Ratings & Research said that RBI MPC is likely to maintain the status quo on rates at least till Jun 2024.

    “We anticipate a rate cut thereafter aggregating to 50-75 bps in the next six months. The policy stance may, however, be changed to neutral by Apr-24, given the low likelihood of a further rise in interest rates,” he added.

    Echoing the same views on Rate status-quo, George Alexander Muthoot, MD, Muthoot Finance said the focus on fiscal consolidation in the recent Interim budget by the honourable Finance Minister, may give some headroom to the RBI to change stance to ‘Neutral’ from the current stance of ‘withdrawal of accommodation’.

    “In the backdrop of recent tight system liquidity conditions, the industry will watch out for RBI’s communication and view on system liquidity. Amidst the slowdown in global economy, the resilience of Indian economy clearly stands out, and the Government focus on capex spending along with the RBI’s prudent monetary policy is likely to keep Indian economy on the steady growth trajectory, while keeping the demand conditions intact,” Muthoot added.

    Meanwhile, an SBI Research report said that it expects the RBI to continue pause stance in upcoming policy. The report also added that We believe the RBI should continue its stance to withdrawal of accommodation.

    “Strong US non-farm payroll data and wages seem to have pushed back on market expectations for a quick pivot to rate cuts. First rate cut on table from Jun’24. Aug’24 looks the best bet now,” it added.
