Panic gripped Mumbai’s Oshiwara neighborhood after unidentified assailants unleashed a barrage of gunfire at Nalanda Society, targeting the residences of a writer-director and a struggling model. The dramatic incident unfolded late evening, sending residents into a frenzy as bullets riddled the building facade.
Neeraj Kumar Mishra, a 45-year-old writer and director, lives on the second floor, while 29-year-old aspiring model Prateek Baid occupies a flat on the fourth floor. Miraculously, no one was injured, but bullet marks on both apartments clearly indicate the attack was deliberate and aimed directly at them.
Oshiwara Police swiftly cordoned off the area upon receiving reports. Initial investigations revealed single bullet impacts on each targeted flat, with projectiles recovered from the scene. ‘We have formed multiple teams to probe every angle,’ stated DCP Zone-9 Dikshit Gedam, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Paramjeet Singh Dahiya provided further details: two projectiles were found on the floors of the second and fourth levels, alongside impact marks on walls and a wooden cabinet. Forensic teams are analyzing debris and technical evidence to trace the weapon and perpetrators.
