Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with officers in Delhi to acknowledge their contributions to the successful anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. He conveyed the government’s appreciation for their efforts, emphasizing the commitment to eradicate Naxalism.

The operations, conducted under the direction of the Union Home Minister, involved the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG units, in the Abujhmad region from May 18 to May 21. A major outcome of these operations was the encounter in Boter village forests on May 21, which resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also seized.

Key officers involved, including Arun Dev Gautam, Vivekanand, Sundarraj, Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh, were recognized. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, among other senior officials, also attended the meeting.
