New Delhi’s power corridors are buzzing as Union Home Minister Amit Shah embarks on a significant two-day visit to Uttarakhand, focusing on health initiatives and spiritual milestones. Scheduled for January 21 and 22, the tour highlights the government’s commitment to blending modern healthcare with India’s rich cultural heritage.

On January 21, Shah will grace the centenary celebrations of the iconic ‘Kalyan’ magazine at Geeta Bhavan in Swargashram, Rishikesh. Published by Geeta Press, this monthly publication has been a beacon of Indian culture, religion, and ethics for a century. Shah is expected to deliver a keynote address, praising the press’s enduring contributions and reflecting on its century-long journey.

The following day, January 22, marks a healthcare milestone in Haridwar. At 10 AM, Shah will inaugurate the Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital in Maharishi Dayanand Gram at Patanjali Yogpeeth. This state-of-the-art facility promises advanced emergency services, ensuring timely critical care for the region’s residents and addressing long-standing healthcare gaps.

Shortly after, at 10:45 AM, he will visit Gayatri Tirth Shantikunj in Haridwar for darshan of the eternal ‘Akhand Jyoti’ and interact with Gayatri Parivar members. The itinerary peaks at 11:15 AM with the grand ‘Shatabdi Varsh Samaroh 2026’ on Bareilly Island, commemorating the birth centenary of revered Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma and the Akhand Deep’s century. Thousands from across India and abroad are anticipated, underscoring the event’s national importance.

Shah’s participation signals strong central support for Uttarakhand’s spiritual and social fabric. By engaging in these events, he not only boosts local development but also reinforces cultural preservation amid modern progress. This visit is poised to inject fresh momentum into the state’s health and religious sectors, fostering holistic growth.
