LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a powerful address in the Legislative Council on Monday during the discussion on the Governor’s address. He highlighted the state’s remarkable progress under the double-engine government while sharply criticizing the Congress and Samajwadi Party for their stance on national symbols and historical figures.
CM Yogi emphasized that India’s heritage is a source of pride, forming the foundation for a bright future. He condemned attempts to glorify invaders who attacked the nation’s soul and trampled faith, declaring that the new Uttar Pradesh rejects such political opportunism. ‘Supporting anti-national elements or disrespecting national symbols like the tricolor, national anthem, or Vande Mataram is nothing short of treason,’ he asserted.
Marking the 150th year of Vande Mataram, the CM noted Prime Minister Modi’s notification making it mandatory across the country. He accused opposition parties of hypocrisy—claiming to uphold the Constitution while opposing the national song. ‘Refusing to sing Vande Mataram in India is an insult to the Constitution makers, including Babasaheb Ambedkar,’ Yogi said, recalling its official recognition on January 24, 1950.
He recounted historical valor, like King Suhaldev’s victory over Ghazi Salar Masud in Shravasti, now honored with a grand memorial and university in Bahraich by the current government. Similarly, PM Modi unveiled Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s statue at Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Yogi lambasted the SP for misleading on her name and opposing Ram Mandir, Kanwar Yatra, and other faith-based events during their rule.
‘Religious sites are not just centers of faith; they are hubs of national consciousness,’ Yogi declared, pointing to the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya drawing millions daily. The double-engine regime has developed pilgrimage sites across faiths—Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura, and more—aligning with PM Modi’s Panch Pran for a developed India.
Uttar Pradesh now shines with Deepotsav, Dev Deepawali, and Rangotsav, transforming into global spectacles of spiritual pride. Since 2017, the state has seen zero communal riots, no curfews—a stark contrast to the past. Women and traders enjoy unprecedented safety.
Police reforms stand out: 2.19 lakh personnel recruited, including 20% women quota. Female constables rose from 10,000 to over 44,000. Training capacity expanded massively; 60,200 new recruits now train locally. Modern commissionerates, cyber units, and 12 A-grade forensic labs (six more underway) with forensic vans in every district bolster scientific policing under new laws.
Safe city projects in 17 municipal corporations, UP Special Security Force with six battalions, and revived PAC with three new women battalions named after Rani Jhalkari Bai, Avanti Bai, and Uda Devi underscore commitment to law and order. Yogi’s vision blends heritage pride with modern governance for a secure, prosperous UP.
