In a momentous boost to Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure ambitions, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has described the launch of the Namo Bharat rapid rail and Meerut Metro corridor as a golden chapter in the state’s development journey. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate these projects during his visit to Meerut, marking a significant leap in regional connectivity.
Speaking on social media platform X, Yogi Adityanath expressed enthusiasm over PM Modi’s arrival in the historic city of Meerut. ‘A golden chapter is being added to the development journey of the new Uttar Pradesh today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat train in the land of revolution, accelerating the progress of the new Uttar Pradesh,’ he posted.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Meerut district will receive development and welfare projects worth nearly Rs 12,930 crore. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to modern connectivity and urban transformation.
PM Modi will dedicate the 82 km Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor to the nation and inaugurate the remaining sections of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). This pioneering project promises to set a new benchmark for integrated urban and regional transportation.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth echoed the excitement, noting that the rapid rail corridor will drastically cut travel time between Delhi and Meerut while boosting economic integration, trade, investment, and job opportunities.
Earlier, PM Modi himself shared his anticipation on X, reaffirming the nation’s dedication to expanding rail connectivity. He detailed plans to launch India’s fastest Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat train around 12:30 PM, followed by inaugurating additional RRTS sections and dedicating multiple development projects.
This convergence of high-speed rail innovation and metro expansion in Meerut not only enhances daily commutes but also positions Uttar Pradesh as a frontrunner in India’s infrastructure revolution.
