In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s farming community, the Yogi Adityanath government has emerged as a steadfast protector for farmers and their families. The Chief Minister Krishak Dugdhagya Kalyan Yojana, launched in 2019, has now become a vital safety net, disbursing financial aid to over 108,000 beneficiaries amid accidents or disabilities.

This flagship initiative provides up to ₹5 lakh in compensation to families in cases of a farmer’s accidental death or permanent disability. In the financial year 2025-26 alone, a whopping ₹873.58 crore has been distributed to 18,145 farmers or their kin by the revenue department, underscoring the scheme’s rapid expansion and impact.

Under CM Yogi’s directives, the scheme was broadened in 2023-24 to include landless farmers and agricultural laborers, reaching 23,821 beneficiaries with ₹944.72 crore that year. Since inception, the total aid has touched the lives of 1,08,098 families, stabilizing rural economies and offering crucial support during crises.

Transparency is at the forefront, with full digitization underway. The Revenue Council, in collaboration with NIC, is developing a cutting-edge web portal and software set for completion by February 2026. This online platform will streamline applications, enable direct bank transfers, and eliminate the need for repeated visits to tehsil or district offices, curbing corruption effectively.

A dedicated dashboard will ensure real-time monitoring, making the process efficient and accountable. As Uttar Pradesh’s agriculture sector faces uncertainties, this scheme exemplifies the Yogi government’s farmer-centric approach, fortifying the backbone of India’s food security with robust social security measures.
