Lucknow, March 8 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt greetings to the women of the state and all residents on International Women’s Day, emphasizing that women’s role is paramount in forging a robust society. In a series of messages, he reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the safety, dignity, and self-reliance of half the population.

Posting on X, CM Yogi stated, ‘Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all mothers and residents of the state on International Women’s Day. The dignity, security, and self-reliance of maternal power form the foundation of a strong nation. Under the double-engine government, women’s active participation across sectors is infusing new direction and energy into society. Let us resolve firmly for the empowerment of maternal power.’

In his ‘Yogi ki Pati’ message, the Chief Minister highlighted transformative changes since 2017. ‘Before 2017, daughters feared stepping out after dusk, even to school or college. Crimes against women were rampant. Today, they work night shifts confidently, thanks to clear policies and intent. Initiatives like Mission Shakti and Anti-Romeo squads have instilled fear in perpetrators.’

He detailed key schemes driving progress: ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala supports girls from birth to education. Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana enables dignified weddings for poor families. Pushtahar Yojana provides nutrition to pregnant and lactating mothers, boosting future generations’ health. Pensions for destitute women rose from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500. These efforts have slashed school dropout rates, maternal and infant mortality dramatically, ensuring equal opportunities from education to employment.’

CM Yogi celebrated UP’s ‘Nari Shakti’ pioneering self-reliance through startups, entrepreneur credit cards, and self-help groups in every development block. Around 40,000 BC Sakhi women handle billions in transactions confidently. Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, Health Sakhi, and Suraksha Sakhi are not just empowering families but bolstering the state economy.

‘Women’s honor must be supreme for society. As the saying goes, mother and motherland are greater than heaven. Esteemed daughters of UP, fear no one, dream big. Government schemes fuel your aspirations. Don’t just participate in developed UP’s vision—lead it.’ He concluded with warm wishes to all on Women’s Day.
