Lucknow, February 9 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kicked off the state’s 10th budget session under his government with a strong call for constructive dialogue. As the UP Legislature begins its proceedings today, the CM emphasized that the assembly is a cornerstone of democracy and should function through discussion rather than disruptions.
Speaking to media personnel on Monday ahead of the session, Yogi highlighted the key agendas: the Governor’s address and the presentation of the general budget. ‘The Governor’s speech serves as a document of our government’s achievements and future roadmap, dedicated to the people through the House,’ he stated. The session will run from February 9 to 20, with the 2026-27 budget slated for February 11.
Yogi took pride in UP’s economic transformation, positioning it as a breakthrough state in India’s economy. ‘For the first time, a state government is transparently sharing its economic accomplishments,’ he said. The upcoming economic survey report will detail per capita income growth, job creation, and how UP has maintained revenue surplus status for five consecutive years despite challenges.
Reiterating his faith in dialogue, the CM appealed to all members, especially the opposition, to raise issues through debate instead of stalling proceedings. ‘Our government believes in resolving problems through conversation. We welcome valuable suggestions and are committed to acting in the state’s interest,’ he added.
The past nine years have set new benchmarks for legislative conduct in UP, according to Yogi. With national attention on this budget session, he urged members to focus on people-centric issues, accelerating the state’s development trajectory. This session promises to be a platform for meaningful discourse on UP’s progress.
