Gorakhpur, March 4 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kicked off the Holika festival at Gorakhnath Temple with traditional fervor, emphasizing that Holi embodies social harmony, enthusiasm, and joy. ‘Festivals of exuberance like Holi are celebrated in their full glory only when peace prevails,’ he stated while interacting with media persons on Wednesday morning.

The Chief Minister highlighted that society thrives on mutual trust, security, and goodwill. ‘Uttar Pradesh and the entire nation are progressing with this very spirit of confidence,’ he added. Drawing from India’s ancient Rishi traditions, Yogi noted how ancestors preserved the millennia-old legacy of Holi, now carried forward by the current generation with equal zeal.

Across the state, people from all walks of life and every Sanatan follower are immersing themselves in the sacred festivities, dissolving any lingering animosities to foster a cohesive society. Yogi confirmed that Holika Dahan events unfolded peacefully at over 161,000 locations statewide, marking the remembrance of Lord Vishnu’s Narsimha avatar.

He elaborated on the divine symbolism: avatars like Narsimha inspire the suppression of chaos, protection of the virtuous, and defeat of evil forces. ‘In every era, these divine interventions guide us. By emulating devotees like Prahlad, Shabari, or Arjun, we strengthen positive energies and vanquish negativity,’ the CM asserted.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is witnessing a new era of development, blending rich heritage with rapid progress toward a Viksit Bharat. ‘We are fortunate to have PM Modi’s visionary guidance during Amrit Kaal of independence,’ Yogi remarked, extending Holi greetings and wishing eternal celebrations of harmony for future generations.
