A nurse’s death at a nursing home in Hooghly, West Bengal, is under investigation following the discovery of her body on Friday. The police found the woman’s body suspended within the nursing home premises. The incident occurred on the third floor of the nursing hostel in Singur. The deceased’s family has alleged that she was sexually assaulted and murdered, claiming it was in retaliation for her highlighting irregularities in the nursing home’s operations. However, the nursing home management denies these claims and maintains the death was a suicide. The nurse had been employed at the facility for just four days. Police are awaiting the autopsy results before proceeding. Separately, a devastating bus accident in East Burdwan, West Bengal, resulted in ten fatalities and 25 injuries. Five individuals are reported to have sustained serious injuries. The bus was carrying passengers from Ganga Sagar at the time of the accident.
