New Delhi marked the start of the Parliament’s Budget Session with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting on Wednesday. Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan lauded the speech, calling it comprehensive, forward-looking, and visionary.

In a post on his official X handle, the Vice President highlighted how President Murmu’s address outlined India’s remarkable development journey. It presented a confident roadmap for the future, covering all aspects of national progress.

The speech underscored India’s commitment to inclusive, people-centered growth that reaches every section of society. It reflects our collective aspiration for a strong, self-reliant, and developed India.

President Murmu detailed India’s achievements in the first 25 years of the 21st century, laying a solid foundation for progress. Over the past decade, significant strides were made in infrastructure, railways, defense, space, startups, and social welfare.

She referenced ‘Operation Sindoor,’ showcasing India’s valor to the world. Drawing from Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals, the President emphasized the government’s sensitivity towards Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and all sections.

The vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is reaching every citizen. In the last decade, 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. On women’s empowerment, she noted over 10 crore women in self-help groups and the rising number of ‘Lakhpati Didis.’

The Budget Session will continue until April 2, 2026, with the Economic Survey on January 29 and the Union Budget on February 1.
