Uttarakhand polls: Congress turncoats do smartly, daughters of two former CMs avenge defeat in their fathers

DEHRADUN: Two Congress turncoats emerged victorious whilst the daughters of 2 former leader ministers avenged the defeat in their fathers within the Uttarakhand meeting polls.

Former Uttarakhand Congress president Kishore Upadhyay and previous pradesh mahila Congress president Sarita Arya received their respective seats of Tehri and Nainital.

Sarita Arya defeated distinguished Dalit chief from Kumaon area Yashpal Arya’s son and sitting Congress MLA Sanjiv Arya from Nainital whilst Upadhyay defeated Dinesh Dhanai of the Congres through 951 votes from Tehri.

Upadhyay had joined the BJP after he was once denied a price tag through the Congress.

Despite the fact that Congress ballot marketing campaign head Harish Rawat himself misplaced from Lakuwa, his daughter Anupama Rawat received the Haridwar rural seat through defeating cupboard minister Yatishwaranand through 4,472 votes.

Former leader minister and BJP chief Bhuvan Chandrda Khanduri’s daughter Ritu Khanduri Bhushan avenged her father’s humiliation in Kotdwar as she defeated Surendra Singh Negi of the Congress through 3,687 votes.

Khanduri had misplaced from Kotdwar in 2012 and Harish Rawat from Haridwar rural in 2017 when the 2 stalwarts had contested from the seats as incumbent leader ministers.

Then again, Harak Singh Rawat’s daughter-in-Legislation Anukriti Gusain Rawat misplaced to sitting MLA Daleep Singh Rawat of the BJP in Lansdowne through 9,868 votes.
