The Uttarakhand government has taken significant steps to support veterans and honor the families of fallen soldiers. Demobilized Agniveers will now benefit from a 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs, applicable to various uniformed positions such as constables, sub-inspectors, and fire officers. This initiative aims to secure the future of these servicemen. In addition to this, the state government has increased the ex-gratia amount for families of martyred soldiers to ₹50 lakh and will provide a government job to one family member. Param Vir Chakra recipients will receive ₹1.5 crore. These decisions are seen as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to those who serve the nation. The completion of the Sainya Dham in Dehradun further solidifies the state’s recognition of its military tradition and its valor. These steps reflect the government’s dedication to the armed forces.
