In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ to target those falsely representing themselves as saints and engaging in fraudulent activities. The primary objective is to bring to justice individuals who exploit Sanatan Dharma for deceit and manipulate public trust. The move follows a series of incidents where individuals have been found to cheat people, particularly women, by disguising themselves as saints. The Chief Minister has instructed the concerned authorities to take immediate action through ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ against all such individuals. Dhami stressed that such acts not only offend the religious sentiments of the people but also disrupt social harmony and damage the reputation of Sanatan Dharma. He cited the example of the demon Kaalnemi, who attempted to deceive by impersonating a saint, and stated that the government is committed to preserving the faith of the people and ensuring social harmony. The state government is fully committed to safeguarding public sentiments, preserving the dignity of Sanatan culture, and maintaining social harmony. CM Dhami noted that Uttarakhand is known as Devbhoomi, inhabited by innocent and simple people. Unfortunately, some individuals are taking advantage of this by disguising themselves as saints to deceive the populace. The police and administration have been directed to identify and arrest such individuals as part of Operation Kaalnemi.
