Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the closing ceremony of ‘Swarnim 70 Years’ in Haridwar, an event organized by Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Uttarakhand. Officials and youth of the Mazdoor Sangh welcomed the Chief Minister. Dhami initiated the program with the lighting of a lamp, with many young people attending the event. He also took part in a youth worker conference.

Uttarakhand recently made history by becoming the first state in India to implement a Yoga Policy. This policy, approved by the Pushkar Singh Dhami-led cabinet, aims to establish the state as a global hub for yoga and wellness. The Yoga Policy provides subsidies up to Rs 20 lakh for developing yoga and meditation centers and grants up to Rs 10 lakh for research in yoga, meditation, and naturopathy. The government aims to establish five new yoga hubs by 2030 and ensure yoga services in all AYUSH Health and Wellness Centers by March 2026.

During the event, the CM planted an apple tree as part of the ‘Ek Vriksha Yoga ke Naam’ program. He announced the forthcoming establishment of one Spiritual Economic Zone each in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions to boost Ayurvedic and Naturopathy, Yoga and Spiritual Tourism. Furthermore, the state plans to establish two new towns in its hilly areas, intending to highlight its identity as a center for Yoga, Ayurveda, and Spirituality on the global stage.
