In a major boost to Uttarakhand’s growth trajectory, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has greenlit a substantial Rs 227.73 crore for vital development initiatives across the state. This approval, announced on Wednesday, targets critical infrastructure and welfare schemes aimed at enhancing connectivity, education, and rural upliftment in the hill state.

The funding allocation comes at a pivotal time as Uttarakhand pushes forward with its ambitious development agenda amid challenging terrain and seasonal adversities. CM Dhami emphasized that these projects will directly benefit remote villages, improving road networks, school facilities, and health centers. ‘Our government is committed to balanced development, ensuring no region is left behind,’ Dhami stated during a high-level review meeting in Dehradun.

Key projects under this funding include the construction of all-weather roads in Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts, upgrades to primary health centers in Tehri Garhwal, and expansion of irrigation facilities in Rudraprayag. These initiatives are expected to generate employment for thousands while bolstering disaster resilience in landslide-prone areas.

Experts hail this move as a strategic step toward sustainable growth. ‘With focused investments in infrastructure, Uttarakhand can attract more tourism and investment,’ noted development economist Dr. R.K. Singh. The state government has also prioritized eco-friendly measures, incorporating solar-powered streetlights and rainwater harvesting in the approved plans.

Local residents expressed optimism. In remote hamlets of Bageshwar, villagers anticipate better access to markets and schools. This approval underscores CM Dhami’s proactive governance, aligning with the state’s vision for a ‘Viksit Uttarakhand’ by 2047. As implementation kicks off, all eyes are on timely execution to maximize impact.
