Maha Kumbh 2025: Demand to remove words like Shahi Snan and Peshwai from Maha Kumbh, saints suggested many names

Prayagraj. Now less than 4 months are left for Maha Kumbh 2025. In view of this, the Yogi government has started preparing for this mega event. In this Maha Kumbh, the saints and sages of the Akharas will enter the city by taking out a procession in royal attire. Along with this, there will also be a royal bath traditionally on the three major bathing festivals. But in the meantime, a discussion has started about the words like Shahi Snan (Urdu) and Peshwai (Persian) used in Kumbh. There is a demand to change these words.

Saints believe that in the events of Sanatan Dharmis, words of Sanskrit and Hindi should be used instead of the dialect and language of the followers of other religions. Suggestions for names have also come for this. For example, instead of Shahi Snan, there have been suggestions of Amrit Snan, Rajsi Snan, Triveni Snan and Divya Snan. Which has been given by the saints. Similarly, there is a demand to do ‘Saints’ Nagar Pravesh’ instead of Peshwai.

According to the information, a meeting of the Akhada Parishad is going to be held soon in Prayagraj. In which an appropriate decision will be taken after consideration. This is a matter related to all 13 Akhadas. In such a situation, the final decision will be taken in the meeting of the Akhada Parishad. Because the words like Peshwai and Shahi Snan are written on all government records including the gazetteer and their names cannot be changed without making changes in them.
