Lying proved costly: After Supreme Court’s rebuke, prison chief secretary was reprimanded, Yogi government removed him from all posts

Lucknow. Major action has been taken against Rajesh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Prison Administration Department. Rajesh Singh has been removed from Cooperation and Prison. The government has put Rajesh Kumar Singh on waiting list. In his place MP Agarwal has been given the charge of Principal Secretary Cooperation. Anil Garg has been given the charge of Principal Secretary Prison. Venkateshwar Lu has been given the charge of Gram Vikas Sansthan BKT. A few days ago, the Supreme Court had asked the state government to take action.

Let us tell you that in the case of pardon of prisoners yesterday, the court had said that it will not tolerate lying before the court and changing its stand as per convenience. The bench of 2 judges said that what was written in the affidavit and his statement are completely different. Some statements given in the affidavit along with the statement appear to be false. Rajesh Kumar Singh had argued on August 12 that the office of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh delayed the disposal of the file related to the pardon of a convict due to the model code of conduct implemented in the state due to the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
