Bahraich. The terror of wolves in 30 villages of Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh has given people sleepless nights. After sporadic incidents of wolves from March to June, six children and a woman have died and 35 people have been injured in the last one month.
Let us tell you that the series of wolf attacks started in March, when a wolf took away a three-year-old girl in Mishranpurva. After this, on March 23, a one-and-a-half-year-old child was attacked in Nayapurva. From April to the end of June, wolves injured 10 children and elderly people. From July 17 till now, one woman and six children have been attacked by wolves.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the forest department has started Operation Bhediya. 16 teams and 12 district level officers have been deployed in this operation. So far three wolves have been caught, out of which one died and two have been sent to Lucknow Zoo. After the arrest of the captured wolves, other wolves have become more aggressive.

Solar and high mast lights will be installed in the affected villages at a cost of Rs 20 lakh from the Critical Gap Fund, and Rs 5 lakh has been given to install doors in the houses. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has summoned a report on the matter. Many teams are engaged in this operation.
